How Opacity Affects Colors?

Opacity means how light passes through the surface. Light can’t pass through the surface, which is 100% opaque. Light reflects when it hits an opaque surface. It cannot enter the character in opaque colors objects. It just crashed and reflected. Take an example of the ink bottle. You can see through it, which means it is less opaque, and light will travel through it. It means that light can travel through less opaque or translucent objects. To know how color shift works, we take two shirts; one is black, and the other is white. Print half of your design underneath, and the other half is without underneath. Printing is made directly on the t-shirt on both halves. Direct printing gives you accurate results. The printing will underneath appear lighter than the print without underneath.

 

How Do Opaque Colors Work In Color Shift?

Colors like light blue are naturally opaque. Even though the white base shows some color shift, it is much less. White color reflects while black absorbs it. The colors like white and black do not allow light to travel through. So it depends on the natural opacity of the paint that how much color shift is possible.

Color shift depends on the nature of colors. Some colors are more translucent than others. These colors depend on the color of the shirt underneath and appear light on the white base. Less opaque colors allow light to pass through and reach the base colors, bouncing back and appearing less bright. These less opaque colors become lighter on a black t-shirt. The black color base makes the translucent colors look darker, so you have to make many efforts to get the desired color print.
